What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is used within physiotherapy, to assist in the management of pain and inflammation. Treatments are based on scientific research and evidence, which has found that pain can be reduced by stimulating the brain and spinal cord. This results in a chemical response to produce pain relieving hormones such as endorphin and serotonin, which assist the body’s healing process.  Western Acupuncture , as practised at the Iveson Clinic, combines many TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) principles, with the aim of enhancing the physiotherapy treatments such as exercise and rehabilitation.
