Introduction re COVID 19
At this very difficult time, everyone is trying to reorganise their lives due to the Coronavirus/COVID 19. The Iveson Clinic in Long Melford is now closed. However we will continue to offer advice and remote consultations. We are being advised to socially distance ourselves to slow down/try and prevent the spread of this disease. Hence by still being at the end of the phone or available to video consult, we hope we can continue to help those with musculoskeletal problems.
With the weather improving, and being stuck at home, many of us may be tempted to do more gardening or DIY. Seasonally, we often see patients at this time of year, who have developed backache after gardening. Our advice is to do regular exercise but to vary your activities . Don’t stay in one position for too long. If your pain doesn’t settle down with normal home remedies and you don’t know what to do, call us at the Iveson Clinic
The phone line will still be open Monday to Friday. (01787 374964)
Types of remote consultation
If a patient wishes to have a video consultation, this will be available through encrypted platforms such as:
- Skype
- Facetime
- Whats app
The Iveson Clinic considers your security and confidentiality to be of prime importance. Implied/verbal consent will be accepted from the patient regarding any information shared between the therapist and patient.
Therapists consulting from their own device to patients, will not share your data and will record any findings as normal on patient’s records. These will be stored securely.
At consultations, we will be able to discuss your symptoms and through set questions, work out a plan of action and advice. Exercises can be e mailed and referrals can made to GPs or consultants as required.
Summary
You are not alone. Although we are advised not to offer ‘hands on’ treatment at this time, we are still here to help. If you need telephone advice or a full consultation, we are still available on 01787 374964
