Sports massage – welcome Sophia
The Iveson Clinic are delighted to welcome Sophia Richards to our team . Sophia is a fully qualified Sports Therapist who trained and qualified in 2017, in Sports Science Injury Rehabilitation at the York St John University.

What is Sports Massage
Sports massage is a form of massage involving the manipulation of soft tissue which will particularly benefit people involved in sports and physical activity. This form of massage is designed to assist correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are caused by repetitive and strenuous activity or trauma. Enhanced performance, recovery and prevention of injury can often be helped with this technique .
About Sophia
Sophia has always enjoyed sports and has previously competed at national level in hockey, cross country running, pistol shooting and equestrian sports.
At the London Marathon exhibition, she employed her skills as a sports massage therapist. Here Sophia worked on different ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds. Having run her first marathon in 2020, she fully understands the needs a runner may require before, during and after the race.
Away from the Iveson Clinic, Sophia works at Stowmarket Rugby Club as their pitch side first aider on match days. On training days she works there as a sports therapist, assessing and treating all players. In her spare time, she enjoys playing rugby and working on the family farm in her spare time.

Precautions
Sports Massage precautions
The Iveson Clinic has set up all precautions as required by Public Health England. Therapists all wear full PPE and treatments are spaced apart to enable full cleaning of the treatment room between patients. A QR code is available to scan before treatment for patients with the NHS Track and Trace app.
